Description:
Full-Time Monday through Fridays, primarily 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with one evening shift per week, every fifth Saturday morning, and very occasional Sunday for special events.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible to develop and implement music programs for residents of our community; to provide a therapeutic environment that maintains each resident’s highest level of physical, social and psychological well-being.
Qualifications:
. Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy or its equivalent, including a 6-month internship at a clinical training facility approved by the American Music Therapy Association.
. Knowledge of the emotional, physical, mental, and social needs of the geriatric population preferred.
. Knowledge of the practical application of principles and techniques of MT useful with the geriatric population preferred.
. Ability to play at least one instrument with above average proficiency, including ability to transpose and improvise.
. Must be available to work other than normal hours.
. Regular attendance is required.
. Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
. Demonstrates ability to create programs utilizing training and background in music therapy.
. Occasional outdoor time will be required when transporting residents to out of facility functions.

Compensation: $19.09 - $22.00 per hour
